Weighing in at 2.2 kg (4.9 lbs), the TeraPur 600 filter is a multi-layer filter that comes chock full of high-efficiency technologies, giving it a broad spectrum of action and making it effective against all forms of air pollution.

The TeraPur 600 replacement filter is composed of 5 different layers: 1) pre-filter, 2) antibacterial filter, 3) HEPA H13 filter, 4) activated charcoal filter, and 5) photocatalysis. Note that the UVC lamps and ioniser are separate and do not need to be replaced on a yearly basis.

The air first passes through a pre-filter, followed by a filter made of natural bamboo fibre that is sprayed with an antibacterial agent. Next, it goes through a certified HEPA H13, medical-grade filter. HEPA stands for ''High Efficiency Particulate Air and is a European certification requiring that 99.97% of fine particles (down to a size of 0.01 micron) are removed in a single pass. The next steps are the activated charcoal filter and a photocatalysis layer to remove all chemical pollution.

Exorbitant Increase from French filters

Well first of all I was so relieved to find that Eloleaf had stepped in and were helping out customers from the French firm that just stopped trading and therefore we couldn't replace our filters.

But I must say the hike in the price of the filters ( compatible ones) was unbelievable.

There is inflation and then there is just pure cheek! Then to top it all off we had to pay £15 for delivery. We didn't even have to pay that coming from France.

As to the quality of the filters - how on earth do we know what the quality might be. We just gave to put out faith in the Eoleaf company.

Might have to find another Air Purifier with more reasonably priced filters.

I accept these things cost money to make but the difference in pricing was mind blowing.

Thank you for taking the time to write a detailed review of your experience purchasing your replacement filter from us here at Eoleaf! We are sorry to hear that our pricing has left you disappointed, but I wanted to take a moment to contact you directly about some of the points you raised.

First of all, we are thrilled that you were able to finally replace the filters in your AIRVIA device once they stopped trading. Many customers were left in the lurch when they closed shop, and we are pleased to be able to provide filters to the countless AIRVIA customers who were left with devices and no way to purchase new filters.

Regarding shipping cost, we certainly can understand your point of view. Unfortunately, filters are very voluminous. Although the Amazon era has given customers the impression that shipping doesn't cost anything, we charge you less than 50% of what shipping costs us.

Regarding pricing of the filters themselves, prices increased dramatically during and since the COVID-19 pandemic. Not only have prices increased for you, but they have for us, too. We have extremely slim margins on filters and, unfortunately, have little control over their pricing. We have made multiple efforts to keep prices as low as possible, even reducing our filter prices since last summer. We hope to do so again within the upcoming year to continue to make our filters more accessible to all of our customers. To provide some context, Eoleaf makes a razor-thing profit on filters (taking into consideration the price of the filters themselves, import costs, etc.). This is not a profitable item for us, and we are certainly not aiming to price gauge: this is just the price of a high-quality item. You will be hard-pressed to find a 5-pound filter (which is the weight of this filter) on the market, because most brands don't bother sizing it for it to be effective and last the whole year...

We are experts in the air purification field and can assure you that your money is going towards maintaining a device that offers some of the best air purification on the market. Our filters are expensive compared to some other products on the market, I cannot deny that, but they are big, heavy, long-lasting, and rely on 8 different technologies to bring you the best air filtration possible. We are proud of the products we have built and honestly believe we offer the best quality/price ratio. Air purifiers from the market's big players (Dyson, Philips, Levoit, and Blueair, to name a few) may be less expensive, but they are of lesser quality and require changing more often, contributing even further to your replacement filter budget.

I hope that this information provides some clarity regarding the situation on our end. We highly value transparency and running a business at a human scale, so it is important for us to clarify any misunderstandings directly. How often should I replace my TeraPur 600 filter?

The TeraPur 600 replacement filter (equivalent to the AIRVIA AERO 100 filter) should be changed every 12 months. Refer to our article on why it is essential to replace your filters at regular intervals here.

Note that our Eoleaf air purifiers (as well as those manufactured by AIRVIA Medical) are equipped with multi-layer filters. All of the layers are contained within the same filter block, meaning that you will not need to change several filters at different intervals.

Why is it so important to change my TeraPur 600 filter regularly?

Overtime, the TeraPur 600 filter (AIRVIA AERO 100 filter equivalent) gradually becomes saturated with pollution, which can cause the device's motor to overwork and degrade. Additionally, if you continue using a saturated TeraPur 600 replacement filter (equivalent to the AIRVIA AERO 100 filter), it may start releasing the pollutants that it has captured and stored back into the air. Filters have a shelf life, even when they are not being used, because they interact with their surrounding air.

Does the TeraPur 600 air purifier require changing multiple filters?

No! Compared to many of our competitors, all of our 8 filtration technologies are contained within one filter block. This means no need to keep separate filter change schedules and no need to purchase separate filters. Simply change the TeraPur 600 filter (AIRVIA AERO 100 equivalent), once per year.

Our UVC lamps are designed to last 20,000 hours, which is equivalent to several years of use, depending on how frequently you use your air purifier.

How do I change the UV lamp?

If you have a model that is Wi-Fi equipped (NeoPur 400, TeraPur 600, AltaPur 700, AEROPRO 40, AEROPRO 100 2.0, or AEROPRO 150 2.0), then your unit has two UV lamps. With these devices, the UV lamp can easily be changed by the user. Simply remove the filter, and you will be able to access the lamps.

If you have an older model without Wi-Fi (AIRVIA AERO 100, AIRVIA PRO 150, Eoleaf AEROPRO 100 1.0, Eoleaf AEROPRO 150 1.0), then you only need one UV lamp per device. In this case, please get in touch with our customer support team, as the procedure is more technical and complex.

Does the ionisation function require any maintenance?

No, it does not! Negative ions are created through an electrical field. This function does not require maintenance of any kind.

Is the Eoleaf TeraPur 600 filter compatible with my AIRVIA AERO 100 air purifier?

Absolutely! We sell filters identical to the original AIRVIA Medical filters, they are 100% compatible. If you have an AIRVIA AERO 100, then the compatible filter is our Eoleaf TeraPur 600 filter.
